Coach Charles Smith died July 7, 2011. He was coach 1964 – 1967. Coach Smith was much loved and respected by all who were in his classes or on his teams. The 1966 annual said “The person to whom an annual is dedicated has to be a great, understanding, and likable individual. In dedicating this book to Coach Smith, we are saying all these things about him, and more. We love and appreciate his good humor and sympathetic ear. For all these we say a sincere ‘Thanks, Coach’.”
Many students stayed in school because of his encouragement; others went on to higher learning because he told them it was the right thing to do. He will be missed.
